Functional Setting: 

The Team Assistant is expected to work under a project that deals with sustainable reintegration of returnees and improved migration management in Pakistan. The specific  project objectives are: to promote inclusive economic development in Pakistan, focusing on improving livelihoods, skills development, and sustainable reintegration of returnees, aligning with the Government of Pakistan's development priorities; to enhance the EU's role in the migration sector, support the development of a National Reintegration Policy, and build capacity for reintegration processes, with a special focus on vulnerable groups; to contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 8, SDG 10, and Goal 16, by addressing economic growth, reducing inequality, and promoting peaceful and inclusive societies; and to implement activities for the sustainable, inclusive, and gender-responsive reintegration of returnees, supporting policy development, capacity building, and policy dialogue between the EU and Pakistan, with an emphasis on gender equality.

The project targets areas of return in Pakistan, notably Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.

In particular, the Team Assistant will support activities that deal with sustainable reintegration of returnees and improved migration management in Pakistan.

The position is based in Islamabad, Pakistan. The incumbent will work under the supervision of the Project Manager based in Islamabad, Pakistan. 

Position Specific Experience: 

  • Knowledge and understanding of the migration situation in the country;
  • Pro-actively contribute to day-to-day project implementation and ensure conformity to expected results and project work-plans;
  • Experience in capacity building, information campaign and awareness raising.  

Position Specific Qualification and Language skills:

  • Bachelors or equivalent in a relevant field in addition to completed Secondary Education.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • In addition to the languages listed in the job profile (i.e. fluent English and Urdu), proficiency in Urdu is a requirement. Proficiency in Pashto and Punjabi are considered an asset. ​
