VA26P025V01 - Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Officer
The MEL Officer is responsible for the efficient implementation, management, coordination, and completion of assigned MEL tasks and projects following the functional MEL responsibilities, standards and approach of ICMPD's Strategy, Results and Learning (SRL) unit, and aligned with ICMPD Pan Africa’s regional goals.
The MEL Officer supports the operational delivery of monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities across several regional projects. The role focuses on coordinating routine data collection, maintaining monitoring tools, supporting partners and project teams with reporting requirements, and ensuring timely and accurate information flows. Working closely with the HQ MEL team who provide overall quality assurance, the MEL Officer helps implement MEL plans, troubleshoot day-to-day data issues, and organise monitoring visits and follow-up. By keeping field-level MEL processes running smoothly and consistently across projects, the MEL Officer ensures that reliable data is available for regional project management and SKEI review.
The MEL Officer will be based at ICMPD’s Office in Abuja, Nigeria, with day-to-day supervision by the Head of Office and technical oversight of MEL deliverables by the relevant SKEI Officer. Proficiency in verbal and written English and French are required, with the ability to review and draft MEL reports and related documents in both languages expected.
