ICMPD has maintained collaboration with Libya since 2002, formalising an official Cooperation Agreement between ICMPD and Libya in November 2019. In 2021, ICMPD inaugurated its official Office in Tripoli and by 2023, deployed its first international staff, establishing a permanent Head of Office presence in Tripoli. ICMPD's primary focus in Libya involves providing support to the Libyan authorities across various domains, including border management and security, and addressing diverse aspects of migration governance.
“Professionalisation Support to Libya’s Attorney General’s Office and Criminal Research and Training Centre (PRO-AGO)” project, funded by the Netherlands Ministry of Justice and Security and implemented by ICMPD, is a nationally anchored initiative designed in direct response to the priorities and requests of Libya’s judicial authorities especially to initiate targeted support for the Criminal Research and Training Centre (CRATC) under the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) as a key institution for training and capacity development within the justice sector.
The Project Officer reports to the Project Manager. Fluency in Arabic and English languages is mandatory.
