Project Overview:
ICMPD is inviting all interested candidates to apply for the position of Associate Researcher. The candidate will be working on quantitative methods in migration research, in particular in the projects FIMAS+reCOV and RIAT.

FIMAS+reCOV is a longitudinal survey on the social position of refugees in Austria, and on facilitators of and possible barriers to successful labour market integration. We are currently implementing its sixth wave of data collection. Based on cross-sectional and longitudinal data analyses, we present findings to stakeholders and the public, nationally and internationally.

In the RIAT project, ICMPDs Research Unit is contributing to improve the data collection framework of an administrative case management system in the field of EU joint reintegration services. This includes reviewing the methodological validity of the tool as well as developing a data analysis and reporting framework.

Job Description:
The Associate Researcher undertakes analysis and content creation in support of project-level scientific research outputs. The Associate Researcher engages in research planning, undertakes research, and drafts research related outputs. S/he is responsible for the implementation of projects’ components, as assigned. Within the assigned projects, the Associate Researcher delivers research, being responsible for the timely achievement of high-quality scientific outputs. S/he supports planning of research activities, continuously assessing outputs for quality and relevance, and disseminates project’s scientific outputs. 
In the FIMAS+reCOV project, the Associate Researcher will support survey implementation, including data collection and data cleaning. S/he will perform data analysis of cross-sectional and longitudinal data, and draft documents and analytical inputs including reports, research papers, reviews, summaries, policy relevant conclusions and presentations. S/he will conduct literature review, and present research findings in academic and policy settings, nationally and internationally.

For the RIAT project, the Associate Researcher will be tasked with conducting desk research and carrying out interviews with stakeholders. S/he will draft reports and support the development of data visualisations. 
The Associate Researcher follows scientific discussions and developments in his/her specific thematic area. S/he contributes to advancing internal information exchange on research findings, as well as to translating research findings into options for further policy development. S/he contributes to the development of ICMPD´s knowledge body by synthetizing research findings, by developing knowledge materials and by contributing to the development of new research initiatives and projects. S/he advances the state of knowledge in her/his particular field of expertise and disseminates immediate research findings at agreed specialist events. 
The Associate Researcher works under the overall supervision of the Head of Research and the direct supervision of Project Manager(s) of the assigned projects, Researcher, or Senior Researcher for project-specific deliverables and collaboratively with members of the Project Teams and staff in Policy, Research and Strategy (PRS) Directorate enhancing exchange and information sharing.
