Project Manager
Functional Setting:
The position is located under the Border Management Portfolio at ICMPD Western Balkans and Türkiye Office, as the Project Manager and will be responsible for leading the “Reinforcing the Border Control Ecosystem of Türkiye through Enhancing Operational Capacities and Cooperation (ENTRENCH)" Project.
The ENTRENCH Project is structured in a multilateral and multidimensional approach, which aims to enhance border management capacity at Istanbul Airport and other major international airports in Türkiye in order to ensure application of effective border management measures. The Project also seeks to improve information sharing, support measures to standardise procedures, as well as to strengthen international and regional cooperation and coordination between border-related institutions of countries of origin, EU countries, and relevant international agencies.
The Project Manager will work with a team of Project Officers and Project Assistants, under the direct supervision of the Border Management Portfolio Manager and with substantive guidance of the Head of Region.
Position-Specific Expertise:
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the border and migration context in Türkiye and the region.
- Experience in project management in close coordination with national and international competent authorities.
- Ability to effectively manage projects and project teams in an international context.
- Proven capability to promote capacity development measures across the full project cycle management.
- Analytical thinking and ability to integrate new approaches and innovations to ensure the effective implementation of projects.
- Familiarity with monitoring, evaluation and learning tools for tracking progress toward results and documenting project/programme achievements.
- Demonstrated success in building networks and partnerships and in the initiation and deployment of knowledge management and resource mobilisation activities.
Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skills:
- Master's Degree related to the area of work is preferable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the development and management of projects and project teams in the field of migration or a relevant related field, at the international level is required.
- Solid drafting, communication and presentation skills are desirable.
- Proficiency in (verbal/written) English, proficiency in the language of the duty station is an asset.
- Proficiency in the use of standard IT tools is required.
