Junior Project Officer
Based in ICMPD WB and Türkiye Regional Office in Ankara works with several stakeholders such as policy makers, law enforcement agencies, local authorities, civil society, academia, private sector and the media; and deals with promoting multilateral collaboration and facilitating dialogue through regional cooperation to help development of a comprehensive and collective response to the challenges faced in migration management; migration policy making and data analysis to support the evidence-based policy framework and ensure proactive response to the new developments in the region; focusing on the migration and security nexus to strengthen the technical capacity in migration management together with the fight against transnational crimes; explore innovative ways to implement initiatives that promote the added value of migration and implement other cross-cutting initiatives that complement the projects implemented by other portfolios.
Under the supervision of the Head of Region for WB&TR the junior project officer will be a work for the region with relevant project teams and will support project cycle implementation.
The Junior Project Officer contributes to the formulation of substantive project outputs and content and to the implementation of project communications activities. S/he prepares inputs to drafts of new initiatives and other substantive reports.
Position Specific Expertise:
- Knowledge of management, implementation and reporting of EU projects in the field of migration, especially in migration and development, and socio-economic integration is an asset;
- Knowledge of migration issues is an asset;
- Familiarity with M&E tools and processes is an asset;
- Knowledge and understanding of project reporting requirements is an asset;
- Ability to coordinate with different teams and with conflicting priorities and deadlines.
Position Specific Qualifications and Language Skills:
- Bachelor or Master degree in international relations, social sciences or any other relevant area is a requirement.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in support of project implementation, in the field of migration or relevant related field, at the international level.
- Good drafting and writing skills.
- Proficiency in (verbal/written) English and Turkish.
- Proficiency in the use of standard IT tools.
