Project Management Assistant
Functional Setting
The overall objective of the MMD III project is to support the orderly, safe, regular and responsible migration and mobility of people within Africa, and between Africa and Europe. MMD III is part of the Joint Africa-EU Strategy.
Under its first component, the project continues to support the ICMPD-facilitated migration dialogues Rabat Process, Khartoum Process, the AU-EU Continent-to-Continent Migration and Mobility Dialogue, and follows up on the Joint Valletta Action Plan (JVAP).
Under its second component, the project supports via competitive grants selected initiatives of local authorities, civil society organisations (CSOs) and diaspora organisations aiming at facilitating their links with the JVAP framework and the dialogues as well as increasing their contribution in the field of migration and mobility as related to continental, regional and /or multi-country levels.
Position-Specific Expertise
In addition to the expertise already indicated in the generic job description for the Project Management Assistant, the candidate should have the following:
- Knowledge and understanding of the African migration context and stakeholders.
- Experience working in the African context and with service providers and stakeholders from and in Africa.
- Experience in organising the logistics for high-level events, including for ministerial conferences, specifically in the African context.
Position-Specific Qualifications
- Proficiency in using event management software.
- Proficiency in (verbal/written) French and Spanish.
