Functional Setting:

Situated under the Border Management Portfolio at ICMPD Western Balkans and Türkiye Office, the role of Project Manager entails overseeing and leading the following projects within this specific portfolio.

The SYNCRON (Strengthening National Coordination and Cooperation Mechanisms in the Field of Border Management) Project aims support Türkiye's efforts in enhancing its technical capacity as well as strengthening cooperation and coordination mechanisms in the field of border management at the central and local levels.

The Project Manager will be located in Ankara and work with a team of Project Officer, Junior Project Officer and Project Assistants, under the direct supervision of the Border Management Portfolio Manager and with substantive guidance of the Head of Region. 


Position-Specific Expertise:

- Strong knowledge and understanding of the border and migration context in Türkiye and the region.

-  Experience in project management in close coordination with national and international competent authorities.

-  Experience in working in international environment, national and/or international institutions/organisations, project management, managing project teams and external consultants, monitoring and evaluation.

-  Experience in reporting, budgeting, donor relations and programme coordination.

-  Experience in cooperation and effectively working with different stakeholders, national and international experts and liaising with the Donor.


Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skills: 

-  Master's Degree related to the area of work is preferable.

-  Minimum 5 years of experience in the development and management of projects and project teams in the field of migration or a relevant related field.

-  Solid drafting, communication and presentation skills are desirable.

-  Proficiency in (verbal/written) English, proficiency in the language of the duty station is a requirement.
