ICMPD is inviting all interested candidates to apply for the position of Associate Researcher. The candidate will be working on qualitative methods in migration research, in particular in the INTAKE project.

The INTAKE project analyses the labour market integration of displaced women from Ukraine and how integration support measures can facilitate this process in Austria. The project evaluates innovative gender-specific approaches. It involves an in-depth cross-country comparison with Germany and Poland. The project results shall serve as a foundation for decision-making regarding the (further) development of labour market integration measures for women displaced from Ukraine.

The Associate Researcher is responsible for analysis and content creation in support of project-level scientific research outputs. The Associate Researcher engages in research planning, undertakes research, and drafts research related outputs. S/he is responsible for the implementation of projects’ components, as assigned. Within the assigned project, the Associate Researcher delivers research being responsible for the timely achievement of high-quality scientific outputs. S/he supports planning of research activities continuously assessing outputs for quality and relevance and disseminates project´s scientific outputs.

The Associate Researcher will support the implementation of the INTAKE project, including the organisation of fieldwork and carrying out qualitative interviews. S/he will support in the analysis of qualitative data (including transcription and coding), conduct literature review, and contribute to report drafting, proof reading and formatting. S/he will offer administrative and organizational support to the project team, assisting in the organisation of project related events and reporting obligations.

Position-specific qualifications and language skills:

• Master degree in social science, migration studies, international relations, gender studies, or related field is a requirement.
• In addition to the languages listed in the job profile (i.e. fluent German and English), Ukrainian or Russian are an asset.
• Experience in software for qualitative analysis is an asset (e.g. MAXQDA or Nvivo).
