Functional Setting: 
The Junior Project Officer contributes to the implementation of activities throughout the project(s) life cycle ensuring alignment with the regulatory framework, standard administrative practices and operating procedures of ICMPD. The focus is on supporting project cycle implementation, ensuring that the project(s) plan(s) and scheduled activities are fully implemented, and in providing substantive inputs to the design and formulation of project proposals. S/he provides logistical and administrative support to project activities.

The Programme Assistant/Junior Project Officer will work under the pipeline project “Sustainable Reintegration of Returnees and Improved Migration Management in Pakistan". The objectives of the project are to: enhance post-arrival assistance for Pakistani returnees; increase opportunities for sustainable reintegration (socially, psychosocially, and economically) of returnees, particularly women and persons with disabilities, within their communities while employing gender, human rights, including labour rights, and age responsible approaches; increase awareness on safe and orderly migration, including the dangers of irregular migration and avenues for sustainable reintegration among returnees, potential migrants, their families and communities; enhanced capacities of stakeholders in development of gender sensitive National Reintegration Policy and other policy related documents; and strengthen capacities of the national and local beneficiaries/stakeholders on return and reintegration of Pakistani returnees.

S/he will work under the supervision of the Project Manager within the Silk Routes Regional Office of ICMPD, based in Vienna, Austria. 

Position-Specific Expertise:

Proven experience in working with projects targeting returnees.

Capability to establish effective relationships with stakeholders, and successfully build strategic networks and partnerships.

Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skills:​

Knowledge of Urdu is an asset.
