Functional Setting:

The International Centre for Migration Policy Development (ICMPD) is an international organization promoting innovative and sustainable migration policies, with active projects across Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Mediterranean. ICMPD's Migration Capacity Partnerships for the Mediterranean (MCP Med) framework focuses on developing migration partnerships and enhancing the capacity of migration stakeholders through a regional, joint leadership model. This program emphasizes multi-dimensional governance to deliver practical, operational, and mutually beneficial solutions. Collaboration with the Malta-based Training Institute on Migration Capacity Partnerships (MCP Med TI) helps ensure alignment and effectiveness in achieving these goals.

Under the supervision of the Project Manager and with guidance from the project and Operation Support teams, the Junior Project Officer will support the smooth implementation of project activities. This role involves integrating international standards and human rights-based approaches into project processes while adhering to ICMPD's regulatory standards and budgetary guidelines. The role is based in Tunis.

Position-Specific Expertise:

  • Project Support Experience: Experience supporting project implementation, ideally within the migration or a related field at the international level.
  • Collaboration Skills: Ability to build strong working relationships with diverse project teams and stakeholders.
  • Organizational Skills: Skilled in managing tasks simultaneously and adapting to evolving project needs.

Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skill​s:

  • Education: Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent qualifications.
  • Professional Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in project support, preferably related to migration or similar fields.
  • Communication Skills: Strong drafting and writing abilities.
  • Language Proficiency: Proficient in English (written and verbal); proficiency in the local language of the duty station is desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using standard IT tools (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).​
