Functional Setting

The Counsellor will be help implement the Migrant Resource Centre in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, which was set-up by the International Centre for Migration Policy Development and the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration through the Centre for Overseas Employment. MRCs help individuals and communities make informed decision regarding migration through awareness raising, community education and counselling. MRC provide advice and information to potential, current and returning migrations on matters related to migration covering the whole cycle (from pre-migration to onsite to return and reintegration).

S/he will work under the supervision of the Project Manager within the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Regional Office of ICMPD. The MRC Counsellor will be based in Osh, Kyrgyzstan.  

Position-Specific Expertise

  • Knowledge and understanding of the migration situation in the country
  • ​Experience in capacity building, information campaign and awareness raising  

Position-Specific Qualifications and Language Skills​

In addition to the languages listed in the job profile (i.e. fluent English), Russian and Kyrgyz is a requirement.
